Dashmul is a traditional Ayurvedic preparation made from the roots of ten highly medicinal plants that have immense healing potential. Active ingredients:

Aegle marmelos (Aegle marmelos). Cleanses the blood of stagnant toxins and optimises the nervous system. Wood apple has astringent antipyretic (reduces fever) helminthic (eliminates parasites) and antispasmodic (prevents involuntary muscle contractions) properties and treats gastrointestinal ailments such as diarrhoea and malabsorption (inability to absorb nutrients from food). Wood apple heals persistent dry coughs and relieves insomnia.

Shionaka (Oroxylum indicum). Used in Ayurveda as a highly beneficial tonic to boost immunity and liver homeostasis and is a vital ingredient in the medicinal preparation Chyawanprash that has purported anti-ageing properties. Shionaka is a powerful antioxidant to destroy harmful free-radicals that compete for vitamins and nutrients in the body. The seeds roots and stems of Shionaka all have powerful medicinal properties and heal ailments of the gastrointestinal tract rectify joint inflammation to ease pain and accelerate the healing process of ulcers and abnormal tissue oedemas. Shionaka is a powerful remedy to restore the body’s natural homeostasis.

Patala (Stereospermum suaveolens). A well-known natural medicinal herb to treat a variety of ailments such as reducing oedema and other inflammation of the tissues and organs. Patala eliminates pathogens regulates healthy digestion and treats respiratory ailments such as persistent dry coughs.

Shaliparna (Desmodium gangeticum). Has antioxidant and antiseptic properties and treats cardiovascular ailments prevents oedema and reduces fever.

Prishniparna (Uraria picta). Has antioxidant anti-inflammatory antipyretic expectorant emollient (moisturising properties) and antiseptic properties.

Brihati (Solanum indicum). A potent antioxidant anti-inflammatory antiseptic analgesic and antiallergenic to optimise the body’s complex broncho-pulmonary and gastrointestinal systems. Brihati relieves flatulence and eliminates bloating of the stomach. Brihati has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for millennia as a powerful general tonic to heal and revitalise the entire body.

Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum). Has powerful alkaloids to stimulate the production of hormones such as corticosteroids to treat infertility impotence menstruation disorders and heart disorders. Kantakari is useful in the treatment of joint dysfunction cholelithiasis (buildup of solids in the gallbladder) and broncho-pulmonary ailments such as asthma and other respiratory infections. Kantakari treats disorders of the nasal cavity such as rhinitis and other disturbances caused by abnormal sensory perception in the nose triggered by cold air or sharp pungent odours. Kantakari is mildly diuretic.

Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris). A well known ingredient of Dashmul and is rich in silicic acid that cleanses the liver and kidneys. Gokshura eliminates excessive fluid from the joints reduces oedema and heals urolithiasis (the formation of calcium-oxalate stones in the kidney bladder and urethra). Gokshura has anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic (prevents the proliferation of bacteria) properties that effectively treat urinary tract ailments prevent the onset of prostatitis heal adenoma (benign tumours of glandular tissue) boost spermatogenesis and reverse impotency. Gokshura corrects imbalances of the air element (vata dosha).

Agnimantha (Premna integrifolia). Stimulates blood circulation relieves excessive inflammation and prevents the growth of tumours. Agnimantha penetrates deep tissue cell membranes and capillaries and accelerates the healing of bruises and other traumatic injury.

Kasmarya (Gmelina arborea). Has a calmative relaxant effect on the body boosts lactation and is used to treat STIs and even neutralises the toxicity of snake and scorpion venom.

Dosage: take 2-4 tablets twice daily on an empty stomach. Use under the direction of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.
